day 3:

what's new in the world?

seeing brennan and jono and david tonight, for our late night IHOP gathering. it will be the last one for a long time, atleast in virginia beach. if bren or jono or dave ever read this, i want you to know you are welcome anytime to visit me in fred and we can eat at the one in central park at 1 am if you'd like. i would like that.

aria is majoring in philosophy... she is brilliant of course, and i am very happy for her. if i ever get into trouble once she's passed the bar, she would surly be my first choice to represent me in court. conversations with aria are always great, and tonight they were especially great because she was telling me about a course she took where they talked about what makes each person a person [ or something like that ]. it had to do with our souls, and when we die, if any part of us continues with our souls [which confused me] and how there are so many souls that they must be recycled into new bodies.. for instance, bobby down the street could have the soul of socrates. or how our souls may change all the time without us ever knowing or feeling it..

i just read one of emily's posts about the clash, and it was really good and it really showed that she has a gift to write. i could never write like her, or understand music like her, or come up with opinions or ideas quite like she does. it was great stuff. i will get to see her on the first day of the new year which seems kind of monumental for some reason, or just good luck or something. i'm definitely looking forward for things to come...

lastly, i get to see brit tomorrow! we are moving into our room together, which [as i said in "day 1:"] leaves me with mixed emotions. when i talked to jules on the phone today, i felt a lot better. i hadn't heard her voice in a while and it reminded me that this isn't about me leaving the place i grew up in forever, it's all about what's coming next.. i get to live with friends and be with them all the time, and enjoy being young, and learning, and experiencing things that are new. can't wait to see mo!
